Cats and dogs have both brought us many iconic memes over the years, and the pup behind one of the most recognisable viral images – Cheems the shiba inu – has passed away, his owner has announced. Cheems, real name Balltze or ‘Ball Ball’, was popularised online for his love of cheeseburgers or a “cheemsburbger”, and appeared in “Swole Doge vs Cheems” and “bonk” memes too. He was not the pup behind the ‘doge’ meme, however – with that being a shiba inu named Kabosu who, despite reports in December 2022 that she was critically ill with leukaemia, is still smiling away in adorable photos on Instagram. In their post to the social media platform on Friday, Balltze’s owners confirmed Cheems “fell asleep” during a surgical procedure known as thoracentesis, which concerns the removal of fluid or air from around the lungs. He had been battling cancer, with his owners hoping to arrange chemotherapy following the surgery. The owners wrote: “Don’t be sad, please remember the joy that Balltze brought to the world. A shiba inu with a round smiling face connecting you and me, he has helped many people during the pandemic and brought a lot of joy to many of you, but now his mission is completed. “I believe he is running freely in the sky and having a lot of delicious food with his new friends. GoFundMe has deleted an OnlyFans model's campaign after she offered nudes to anyone who donated $10 to Maui wildfire victims. Mariah Casillas, also known as 'Lavaxgrll' had created a GoFundMe to help raise money for those in Maui who have been affected by the wildfires that have tragically claimed up to 100 lives so far. In order to raise as much money as possible, Casillas offered to send nudes to anyone who proved that they had donated $10 or more to her campaign. It seemed to be working as Casillas managed to raise over $6,000 in just a couple of days, but GoFundMe removed the campaign. Meaning that all the money raised went with it, too. In response to GoFundMe's move, Casillas took to social media to reassure fans that she was not going to let it stop her from raising money. "GoFundMe took down my account but that isn't going to stop me from doing what I can to help the people of Maui," she wrote. "I'll be making a list of nonprofits to donate towards instead, you can still send me your screenshots!" It seems that GoFundMe took down Casillas' campaign as it violated its services that state GoFundMe can't be used to raise funds if they involve, "offensive, graphic, perverse or sensitive or sexual content." In order to keep raising money, Casillas has moved her fundraiser to OnlyFans telling subscribers to "drop your donations on my pinned post and let's get to work." On Wednesday a GoFundMe spokesperson told FOX Business that its platform had raised over $30 million for the communities needing support in the aftermath of the wildfires. iShowSpeed ended a recent stream suddenly after accidentally exposing himself to fans live on air. The hugely popular figure was broadcasting to 24,000 people when he accidentally flashed the camera, looking shocked after realising what he’d done instantly. The streamer, real name Darren Watkins stood up, showing his crotch, not realising that his penis was exposed while playing the game Five Nights at Freddy's. “Oh my god,” he said, before immediately ending the stream. The moment sparked a big reaction on social media and became an instant meme. Some have speculated that the YouTuber could have his account banned for the incident, with the platform’s policies prohibiting content that includes “the depiction of clothed or unclothed genitals, breasts, or buttocks that are meant for sexual gratification”. However, TMZ has since reported that YouTube will not ban Watkins despite the infringement. It comes after iShowSpeed has opened up about the health crisis that saw him rushed to hospital, saying that he “almost died”. The influencer was in hospital for weeks after being taken to a Japanese hospital in July for a sinus infection which caused a "deadly headache”. The influencer, real name Darren Watkins Jr, previously posted footage of himself with one eye closed and the other severely swollen. His followers have been showing support for the 18-year-old, with fans previously arriving outside of his hospital in Tokyo. A marriage proposal at Super Nintendo World has gone viral online due to the character Luigi’s hilarious reaction. Fans of the Nintendo games have been able to enjoy the Super Nintendo World theme park at Universal Studios in California since it opened in early 2023. For one superfan, he decided it was the perfect time and place for a wedding proposal and the clip was shared online after being caught on camera. In the video, a man and woman could be seen standing between the dressed-up characters of Mario and Luigi. He got on one knee and opened a ring box to pop the question. While the character of Mario displayed the appropriate level of excitement by mimicking a look of excitement and shock, the Luigi character simply stood there with his hands on his hips. Famous Kody, an internet personality and TikTok star, has died at the age of 21. The influencer also went by the name Mr Blicky on social media. He died following injuries sustained in a car crash in July. Last month, TikTok user JuiciNicole revealed that Famous Kody – real name Zyquan Mitchell – was in a medically induced coma. “He is fighting but he is stable,” Nicole wrote at the time. “We’re asking for prayers from everyone and positive vibes only, guys.” The influencer’s sister Zy'Kevia posted a statement confirming the news and paying a moving tribute to him. Ed Mylett has gone viral for a second time after a clip from a podcast appearance on Impact Theory with YouTuber Tom Bilyeu went viral on X (formerly known as Twitter). The clip encapsulates hustle and grind culture perfectly, as Mylett claimed he had more days in the week than everyone else and explained his bizarre logic. He explained: “My day is 6am to noon, and I’m not crazy. Conspiracy theories have taken over the internet since the "not real" American Airlines passenger, Tiffany Gomas, released an apology video in which she addresses the incident from 2 July. To recap, the 38-year-old marketing executive from Texas went viral for her rant on board, where she claimed a fellow passenger wasn't real. "That mother f**ker back there is not real," she said at the front of the plane while pointing towards her seat, which has since gone on to become an online phenomenon with TikTok trends, merch – and conspiracies. On Sunday (14 August), Gomas finally addressed the incident with a self-recorded video posted to her X account (formerly known as Twitter). And some conspiracy theorists online insist it's not really her. One person wrote, "Who actually believes that this is the crazy plane lady Tiffany Gomas speaking out? Who TF they trying to kid?" – though, he didn't clarify who "they" was. Another person made the claim: "Not only is this not the same person but someone ran a traceroute on her website, tiffanygomas(dot)ćom, and it runs through a Washington DC email. Her IP isn't your standard home internet IP address, mostly likely ran through a government server. This was government created." Meanwhile, a third wrote: "The mystery of whether this is really the person she claims to be can be easily solved if she produces a record of her flight receipt. In the Pokémon world, Wiglett was announced as a new convergent species related to Diglett for the 2022 Pokémon Scarlet and Violet role-playing video games. It is a type of Garden Eel Pokémon that, with its long cylindrical length, has led to some unfortunate comparisons with the release of a new plushie toy. The Wiglett plushie is sold online by the Pokémon Center, but the long toy has caught the eye for all the wrong reasons as people have suggested it looks like a phallus. The Island Boys have sparked further backlash after pushing more inappropriate content that has disturbed fans. The twin sibling rappers, Kodiyakredd and Flyysoulja, whose real names are Franky and Alex Venegas first rose to fame in 2021 thanks to their viral track 'I’m An Island Boy' becoming a hit on TikTok. Now, they are instead turning heads for some questionable OnlyFans content that includes footage of them kissing, sparking backlash. Weeks later, Flyysoulja came out as gay. The brothers have continued to share controversial content, hinting at a NSFW intimate act between the two, but it is suspected that it may not be what it first appears. In a since-deleted video posted on the No Jumper Instagram page, a screenshot appeared to show Flyysoulja taking a selfie in the mirror. In the picture, his brother crouched by his crotch area suggesting that a sexual act was taking place. A large emoji was placed over the intimate area.
