UFC 5 is just one day away, and fans want to know if the new title will be on PS4.
UFC 5, the next edition in the MMA franchise, comes with new modes, enhanced graphics, and a roster full of the best fighters in the world. After a successful yet controversial UFC 294, the game is set to bring all MMA fans on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S back into the Octagon.
But will those on Current Gen consoles like PlayStation 4 have access to UFC 5?
Will UFC 5 be on PS4?
No, UFC 5 will not be on PS4. Unfortunately for all Current Gen users, UFC 5 is only available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
In an exclusive interview with Dexerto, UFC 5 developer Nate McDonald revealed the reasoning behind only releasing the game on Next Gen consoles.
"The biggest reason is the team really wanted to focus in very specifically on curating the UFC 5 experience into the best possible experience it could be on the [next] generation consoles," McDonald explained, "so that players are able to experience the really hyper-realistic character likenesses, the facial motions of their favorite fighters, and the next level environment fidelity. And the highest resolution possible."
In other words, the game is specially designed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and therefore will not be coming to PlayStation 4.
Is UFC 5 Crossplay?
No, UFC 5 does not support crossplay or cross progression. Players on PlayStation 5 cannot play with their friends on Xbox Series X|S. They also cannot continue their progression from one platform to another.
Without crossplay, players are limited to who they can play UFC 5 with come release day.
UFC 5 Release Date
UFC 5 releases on Friday, Oct. 27, 2023. Those who pre-ordered the game can now pre-load UFC 5 on either PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S so you can hop on as soon as it goes live.
