HOUSTON, TEXAS: Kaitlyn "Amouranth" Siragusa, a popular streamer, faced backlash over an April Fool's Day joke. During a livestream, she claimed she was pregnant. Soon, rumors spread and her followers scoured her social media profiles looking for proof.
At the same time, Amouranth uploaded photographs on Instagram and Twitter, that showed no signs of her pregnancy. She later cleared the air after the backlash.
'Stupid infantile and moronic April Fools joke'
Many users on social media have expressed their displeasure at Amouranth's pregnancy joke. Some her joke was not funny because of fertility challenges many women face. Others called her stunt "just a joke," wondering why it was being treated so seriously.
A netizen took it to Twitter and wrote, "Nice to see @Amouranth putting she's pregnant in her twitch title on this day. Wonder if it's legit or just a stupid infantile and moronic April Fools "joke" about a subject matter many women deal with (fertility issues)."
'I haven't really had any success with dating'
Many people were intrigued not only by Amouranth's joke, but also after she mentioned a boyfriend. Amouranth has not officially admitted to being in a relationship during her streaming career. Earlier in 2022, she joked on stream that her new partner was a blow-up doll.
Amouranth seems to find dating a herculean task. She told The Messenger, "I haven't really had any success with dating. It is hard to trust people in general because you don't know if they know you from online, especially being an OnlyFans creator. It's like, what have you seen and what are you expecting? Because a lot of that is a persona. It's not how you actually are, you're role playing and filming, you're putting on a character." She has decided to put her career first for now. She has plans to change her appearance and socialize more with people when she was older.
