With the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 just a few months away, fans want to know what will happen to their Warzone 2 items after MW3 comes out.
After Activision announced that all original Warzone skins would disappear when Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera shuts down, the community expressed their loud disapproval. Now, with the next Call of Duty title set to replace Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, players are concerned for the fate of all their purchased and unlocked cosmetics in Warzone 2.
Here's a breakdown of what will happen to all Warzone 2 items in MW3.
What Happens to My Warzone 2 Items After MW3 Comes Out?
All players will be able to retain their Warzone 2 items after MW3 comes out. In fact, at the start of MW3 Season 1, all MW3 content will carry over to Warzone 2. Plus, any items eligible to carry over from MW2 will also be integrated in Warzone come November 2023.
In a Carry Forward Q&A blog, the developers stated, "Content is additive, so none of the previously described MWII Carry Forward content acquired in Call of Duty: Warzone will be taken away."
The blog goes on to promise that all items from MW3, MW2, and Warzone 2 will be featured in Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. More details will surface closer to the launch of Warzone Mobile, but the developers "intend to make all Operators, Weapons, Blueprints, and cosmetic equipment accessible, as well as integrating Player Level, Battle Pass access, and Weapon progression among these games."
What Items Will Carry Over from MW2 to MW3?
Most items from MW2 will carry over to MW3. All unlocked Operators and Operator Skins via challenge or purchase will be available in MW3, along with all MW2 weapons and Blueprints. To access the weapons, though, players will need to complete each respective unlock challenge.
Almost all MW2 cosmetics will also carry forward into the new title except:
- Some MWII Vehicle Skins
- Wartracks
- Some Tactical and Lethal equipment that does not exist in MW3
For further clarification, all items in the MW2 store will now have a label that reveals if the content you are looking to purchase will carry over to MW3.
