With release date officially a week away for PC players, fans want to know if Baldur's Gate 3 supports cross-platform play.
Baldur's Gate 3, the highly anticipated party-based RPG developed by Larian Studios, brings players back to the Forgotten Realms where they must resist or embrace the evil parasite infecting their brain. Set in the world of Dungeons and Dragons, fans will be able to choose from a range of D&D races and classes to customize their character.
The early access gameplay reviews confirms Larian Studios' assurance that Baldur's Gate 3 consists of a "grand, cinematic universe [that] brings you closer to your characters than ever before." As you journey through the new world, will you be able to play with friends on different platforms?
Is Baldur's Gate 3 Cross-Platform?
Baldur's Gate 3 does not support cross-platform play. Fans will not be able to play with their friends on other platforms despite the game eventually releasing on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. There is cross-platform progression, though, so players can save their progress even as they switch between platforms.
Baldur's Gate 3 comes out on Aug. 3 for PC and Sept. 6 on PS5. Although there is no slated date for an Xbox Series X|S release just yet, the developers confirmed the game will eventually make its way to Xbox following its releases on PC and PS5.
