The first photo of Elon Musk and Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis with their baby twins has emerged. Author Walter Isaacson posted the picture on X, formerly known as Twitter, which showed Mr Musk and Ms Zilis with their twins — who were 16 months old at the time — sitting on their laps. Mr Musk fathered a set of twins with Ms Zilis, his director of operations and special projects at Neuralink, in 2021, Insider reported. The mother of two was also previously a board member at OpenAI, also owned by Mr Musk. The children were born weeks before the billionaire welcomed his second child via surrogate with his on-again, off-again partner, the musician Grimes. Ms Zilis reportedly told her colleagues at Neuralink that they had conceived the children via in vitro fertilization (IVF) and did not have a romantic relationship, according to Reuters. Mr Isaacson, who is writing a biography on the Tesla CEO, said the photo was taken during a visit to Ms Zilis’ house in Austin, Texas where Mr Musk walked him and Ms Zilis through his concerns about AI. “This past March, Musk texted me, ‘There are a few important things I would like to talk to you about. Can only be done in person,’” Mr Isaacson wrote in an excerpt from his biography posted in TIME Magazine. “He said we should leave our phones in the house while we sat outside, because, he said, someone could use them to monitor our conversation. But he later agreed that I could use what he said about AI in my book.” Mr Isaacson said Mr Musk told him of his concerns that AI’s rapid development was on a collision course with a “leveling off” in human intelligence that Mr Musk attributed to lower human birth rates. “For a moment I was struck by the oddness of the scene,” Mr Isaacson wrote. “We were sitting on a suburban patio by a tranquil backyard swimming pool on a sunny spring day, with two bright-eyed twins learning to toddle, as Musk somberly speculated about the window of opportunity for building a sustainable human colony on Mars before an AI apocalypse destroyed earthly civilization.” Mr Isaacson said the conversation was the beginning of Mr Musk’s latest company x.AI. Lomond School pupil Maksym Gavrylenko has made a “substantial” sum after selling the server he ran from his bedroom, which allows gamers from all over the world to connect to and play together on, with friends. The 17-year-old boarding school pupil said: “I am very proud that I was able to turn my passion into a profitable business and I plan on treating my mother. “As a result of the war, she was forced to flee her home, leaving her homeless, so to buy her a property will make all the hours spent on this project worthwhile.” She is currently staying with friends in Portugal, but intends to settle close to her son. His success comes after he moved from Ukraine to Scotland in 2021 and bought a little-used Minecraft server for £1,000, and in the years that followed he and two friends made changes which resulted in a huge rise in players. Apple has launched “Business Connect”, a new tool to let business change how they appear within its Maps. While the new feature is aimed at businesses themselves, and those with official place listings within Maps, it is aimed at making the company’s information more useful for customers who might be looking for information. Some of Apple’s rivals, such as Google, have long offered richer listings for businesses and made it easier for both the companies themselves as well as customers to add information to those listings. Apple Maps has until now opted for a more controlled method, largely relying on information from other systems such as Yelp. Because the information on businesses was pulled through from third-party listings, which might be out of date or entirely inaccurate. Now within Apple’s Maps and elsewhere can “claim” their location using the new tool, which will give them the ability to edit it. As well as allowing businesses to correct any false information, they are also able to use the tool to add their own photos and logos, include the option to order or take other actions, and show advertising and promotions, Apple said. The feature launched in the US earlier this year. But it has now rolled out more broadly, allowing UK companies to start claiming their own listings and adding information to them. It also comes with a range of protections. Apple will vet the information within the “Showcase” banners that will appear on listings, for instance, to ensure they do not include swearing or other prohibited content, and it will also call businesses to ensure that other people are not able to falsely take control of listings. Companies can use the system by registering on Apple’s self-service website, which is done using an AppleID. Once a business is logged in, it will be able to claim its listing card and start adding more information.
