Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days is upon us again, hitting on Oct. 10-11. Unless you've been hiding under a box like Solid Snake for the past nine years, you know that means big discounts on just about every kind of product that Amazon sells. But Amazon isn't the only game in town, and other major retailers are counter-programming the big event with some of their own doorbusters. Here's our guide to what Walmart, Best Buy, and Target are doing.
Best Buy Holiday Sneak Peek Deals
At Best Buy, October is Member Exclusive month, where Best Buy Plus and Best Buy Total members can take advantage of thousands of deals closed to the general public. In addition, members who spend $500 in October get a $50 gift card. Additional October deals include a Samsung sale from Oct. 6-8, where buyers who spend over $1,000 on Samsung products get a $100 gift card; and a Microsoft sale from Oct. 13-15 with lots of deals, including up to $500 off Windows laptops.
On October 10-11, directly in competition with Prime Day, Best Buy will launch its own flash sale with hundreds of deals on TVs, laptops, smartwatches, heaphones, and more. We'll update this page when the sale launches to spotlight the best deals.
Target Circle Week Event
Target is striking at Amazon a little earlier, preempting Prime Day with Circle Week from Oct. 1-7. It's promising discounts of up to 40% on thousands of items, but haven't announced any specifics yet. Unlike Best Buy, Target Circle membership is free. It provides you with a ton of benefits including 1% back on purchases, a 5% discount on one item on your birthday, access to exclusive deals and the ability to vote on the community support programs Target funnels some of its profits into. We'll come back to this page when Target announces the price drops for Circle Week and give you the details on the must-buys.
Walmart Holiday Deals Savings Event
At Walmart, Oct. 9-12 is the time when it's rolling out deals to compete with Prime Day. Unlike the other two stores, it got ahead of the pack and told us about some discounts in advance. It's a huge list, but here are some of the best offers coming your way:
Apple Watch SE (1st Gen) GPS, 44mm $149 (list price $320)
Sony 75” Class Bravis XR X90K 4K with Smart Google TV $998 (list price $1,498)
HP 15" Pentium 4/128 Silver $199 (list price $249)
26” 36V Hyper Mountain E-Bike $348 (list price $648)
iHome Nova S1 Pro Lidar Mapping Self-Empty Robot $177 (list price $399.99)
Keep in mind that these prices won't be live until Oct. 9, and there will be many more discounts added to the list. Unlike the other merchants, there's no special membership needed to take advantage of Walmart's Holiday Deals Savings Event.
