The Apex Legends developers have added a sneaky reference to Assassin's Creed in the game's firing range for eagle-eyed players.
The firing range is an important part of Apex Legends. Not only does it allow players to hone their skills and perfect some plays, but it also has a few extra features hidden away. In the past, players took advantage of certain easter eggs hidden in the firing range to change to a third-person perspective, one that once was mistakenly removed much to the dismay of fans.
But now, it seems Respawn's devs are having even more fun, sneaking in a reference to one of the most beloved gaming franchises — Assassin's Creed.
Found by user @evefps, and then quickly by many others, the easter egg requires players to go up to the hill on the north-eastern section of the map and sit on top of the red flag. After waiting a few seconds, a "synchronization" will occur of the area, reminiscent of the synchronizations performed in Assassin's Creed to get a better view of the map and its points of interest.
The Assassin's Creed easter egg was confirmed by Apex's Senior Community Manager, Karen Lee, who tweeted in response to a clip, "two games dear to my heart, Assassins – please find some time to sync at our viewpoint in @PlayApex."
Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed has earned itself many crossovers and easter eggs in games over the years, including a special limited-time festival in Square Enix's Final Fantasy XV, which unlocked Assassin's robes as an outfit for Noctis and friends.
