Another weekend means more time for games that have been put off. But gaming by yourself might seem a little boring this time. Maybe you want to spend your off days playing with someone. In that case, which games should you try? Look no further because I've got you covered.

Below is a list of five multiplayer games that you won't want to miss out on. I also included some games you'll want to avoid!

5 Multiplayer Games to Play (and 2 to Skip) This Weekend, July 14

Best Games

It Takes Two

In this multiplayer game, May and Cody's relationship is rocky, and we see it starting to crumble. Their entire world transforms when they're turned into dolls by a spell. Help them save their relationship as they travel through wacky levels to break the curse.

This game is just so much fun and heartfelt. Players dive into May and Cody's fond memories of each other, all characters have quirky personalities, and several mechanics are unique to the playable characters. It's truly an unforgettable experience.

Among Us

It's either kill or be killed in this Mafia-inspired multiplayer game. The rules are simple. Crewmates must complete tasks on a spaceship while murderous imposters try to take them down. It's up to the crewmates to single out the frauds and eliminate them.

Those who aren't avid gamers can still get into Among Us, making it an excellent option for most people. Much of the gameplay consists of gaslighting and lying if you're the imposter, which can be intimidating to some. It's also stressful to figure out who you can and can't trust as a crewmate. The good times outweigh the stressful ones, though. I laugh the hardest when I catch the imposter in the middle of murdering another person. Those moments are the best.

Overcooked

If you think the food industry is intense, wait until you play Overcooked. Get ready to serve food on moving trucks, conveyor belts, and ice floors as you travel through the Onion Kingdom to become a top chef!

This game is the perfect example of how teamwork makes the dream work. You'll have the most fun with people who know how to cooperate and communicate with each other. Although Overcooked may start some fights occasionally, it's always rewarding when you finally get three stars on a level.

Apex Legends

Apex Legends is a fast-paced, free-to-play shooter that pits 20 squads of three in a fight to the death. Choose from a roster of almost 25 Legends, each with unique abilities, and battle it out on various maps.

Apex Legends is a great game for people who want something thrilling. You'll need to be on your toes at all times to survive. Those who enjoy strategizing with team members and using a variety of weapons will also get the most fun out of Apex Legends.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is an entertaining racing game that'll get you riled up at some point. This title is a favorite among many Mario Kart fans, with 43 playable characters, 48 unique tracks, and items that can ruin an opponent's flow in a heartbeat.

The gameplay is simple to learn but challenging to master. If you've got what it takes, go online and race against pros worldwide. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a guaranteed good time whether you're playing couch or online co-op.

Worst (According to Metacritic)

FlatOut 3: Chaos & Destruction

FlatOut 3 is a racing game that received low ratings across the internet. It has 47 unique vehicles, 60 different tracks, 20 playable characters, and nine game modes. So what's not to like about it?

Apparently, people have a lot of reasons to hate the game. Complaints about FlatOut 3 include terrible AI, wonky physics, bad graphics, and boring races. You're better off playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe instead.

Game Party Champions

Game Party Champions earned a bad reputation over the years. It's a party game with eight minigames: Ping Pong, Skill Ball, Water Gun, Mini Golf, Air Hockey, Hoop Shoot, Football, and Baseball.

According to critics and users, the minigames are bland and easy or don't work correctly. Many people dub this game one of the worst minigame tiles.
